Hertfordshire’s Transformation Plan for Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing 2015-20

Publication type:

Work is well under way to transform mental health services for children and young people living in Hertfordshire.

Following a major review of Hertfordshire’s CAMHS – Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services – in 2015, the resulting transformation plan secured national funding to improve services over five years.

At least one child in 10 in Hertfordshire has a diagnosable mental health problem, and many more will need some support to prevent more serious difficulties from emerging.

Just Talk lesson plans

Focused on the key messages that we know will resonate with boys, these lesson plans will help to raise awareness of mental health and dispel myths around mental ill health.
They will also provide an opportunity to explore some of the things pupils can do to help promote their emotional wellbeing.

One has been developed for use in PE and another for classroom use e.g. PSHE:

Just Talk school engagement activities

We really need your help to make Just Talk a success.

On Wednesday 21 February 2018, there will be a professional event to share the key successes and learning points of the campaign so far.
We will be inviting schools to showcase some of their success stories at this event should you wish to do so.

To show our appreciation we will also be awarding certificates and offering training and/or resources up to the value of £500 to the school that has shown the most dedication and commitment to the campaign.
